Wake Up was formed in 2004 by lead singer Dom Bergeron and drummer
Alex Lafrance, under ¨Timeline¨ project name. Timeline was a studio project who had for goal to track a dozen of Dom’s songs to sell them on HYPERLINK "http://www.taxi.com" www.taxi.com before he joins the Canadian forces. After a couple of months Dom and Alex discovered a special sound, a special touch in some of the recorded songs.
These songs were true streams of their lives, the way they were thinking and acting. So far, it was a revelation... They made a road trip to Miami, they drank,
they drove, they passed dozens of nights dreaming’ about this amazing music career… They became the best friends in the world…
Two years have passed before they made music together again.
With Dom’s return from his failed military career, the call of music had let his scream torn their soul again. Alex who had played with several bands before and after the ¨Timeline project¨, was playing with the infamous Iron Maiden tribute Aces High and was very busy with them. It took a couple of months before they re-united and formed a new band with Dom’s brother, Tom.
Dom & Tom always were more than blood brothers; they always were like real twins, inseparable from Tom’s birth. With a working mom & dad, Dom had raised his little bro just like his own child! Those days had made them really precious to each other.
So, Dom, Tom and Alex had formed a band.
They were working on a style, a sound, an attitude…
Melodic vocals, modern drum patterns, rock solid guitars and bass, but still no name! But one of these days during a break, they were smoking a cigarette outside and as always, discussing about this band name, and Alex yelled out;
Hey, wake up guys! Who’s gonna hire a band with no name?!?
Seconds after, they had a name…
Wake Up is a brand new band. Not much paper cuts or magazines interviews to show, but much to tell and to show live! That doesn’t mean they never did anything! Here’s a brief overview of the band’s member past activities…
